About Thessaloniki
Thessaloniki is the second largest city in Greece. It is in the Northern part of Greece, so the area is more mountainous than when you typically think of Greece. On a good day when the sky is clear, you can actually see Mount Olympus from our campus.
Here is a link to google maps of my area to give you some perspective.
Thessaloniki is located on the Aegean sea, but it doesn’t have any beaches in the city. The city is a major port for cargo ships to come into, so I heard the water is pretty polluted in this area. There is a really beautiful boardwalk by the water though where you can go walking or running, and there are lots of little shops and bars near the water. Since I’ve only been here a week, I will hopefully have more to add to this section as time goes on. Let me know if you have any questions, or if I’ve left anything out.
